With several tantalizing captaincy prospects emerging beyond Harland, it’s inevitable that one or two viable prospects will slip through the cracks – including Odsonne Edouard.
Collecting 7 points from a possible 15, Crystal Palace (like their talismanic midfielder and early draft darling Eberechi Eze) have had a relatively slow start. Edouard, on the other hand, has come out guns blazing, with 4 goals in 5 games: 1 away to Sheffield, 2 at home to Wolves and 1 away to Villa. In fact, he’s only blanked against Brentwood and Arsenal, suggesting that Palace’s frontman makes easy work of middling-to-weaker sides.
Sides like… Fulham.
A home fixture against the Cottagers and their unconvincing defence feels convincingly like a good punt, as far as armbands go. Fulham have only mustered wins against Everton and Luton this season (2 teams currently occupying the relegation spots). Factor in that they’re visiting the intimidating cauldron of Selhurst Park, and suddenly, a Palace win feels like an inevitability – with an Edouard haul most likely on the books.
If you’re looking for a BAD CAPTAIN recommendation for Gameweek 6, consider this nailed-on forward with 4.7% ownership and an xGI of 3.61, at home against one of the league's less illustrious defences. It could be the punt that puts you back on top.
Because it might just be Odsonne Edouard’s weekend.
